Five Bullets 6.6.25
Drive-ins, dwarf planets, Budos & more.

Good Morning and Happy Friday Friends:
We’re having warmer weather here in New York City with temperatures in the 80s. Summer is in the air.
I’ve heard from some of you that you’re enjoying last week’s zine! I had a lot of fun making it and I’m glad to hear it’s useful to you. I’ve got a zine walkthrough video in the works and also a few ideas for the next issue. Drop me a comment if you’ve got suggestions.
Here’s five bullets capturing my attention this week:
For continuity I wrote an update to a June 2024 post with what I’m working on and what’s next for the newsletter. I like this process of monthly or yearly check-ins to hold myself accountable, sort of a ‘State of the Newsletter’ if you will.
I took my first fiction writing workshop this past weekend. We wrote, we read, we shared our work and had a lot of fun. Read more about my experience here.
Want to feel like you’re a character in a movie? Pump some tracks from The Budos Band into your ears. The Staten Island instrumental-psych-rock-funk band sounded bigger and badder than ever when I checked out their record release show last Friday. Listen to their new record ‘VII’.
2017 OF201 is the name of a new dwarf planet discovered by researchers looking for the elusive Planet Nine. The dwarf planet is 430 miles wide and takes 24,000 years to orbit the sun. Researchers haven’t confirmed whether this proves or disproves the existence of Planet Nine.
Today in history: D-Day, the Allied invasion of Normandy France, begins in 1944; the Great Seattle Fire of 1889 burns through 100 city acres; and the first (patented) drive-in movie theater opens in 1933 in Pennsauken, New Jersey.
That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. If you’ve enjoyed this newsletter, please subscribe to get a fresh five bullets in your inbox every Friday.
Have a great weekend.
-Keith
