Five Bullets 6.13.25
Music legends, Photoville, Coney Island & more.
Good Morning and Happy Friday Friends:
This morning is warm and cloudy here in New York City. Temperatures reached nearly 90°F yesterday but it’s expected to be about 80 today.
In case you missed it, I published a zine to celebrate three years of Circles In Space. Earlier this week I added a video walkthrough where I discuss some of the ideas and inspiration behind the zine.
Here’s five bullets capturing my attention this week:
I wrote about What’s In My Backpack and how organizing your everyday carry, the items you use on a daily basis, can give you peace of mind to focus on being productive.
We lost a pair of musical icons this week, Sly Stone and Brian Wilson who both passed at age 82. From an early age I can recall hearing Pet Sounds and watching Sly and the Family Stone’s magnetic Woodstock performance. Both musicians are integral parts of the DNA of American music.
Photoville, New York City’s photography festival opened last weekend and runs until June 22. Located at Brooklyn Bridge Park with other locations across the city, the festival includes over 80 visual storytelling exhibits. The festival is a fun (and free!) opportunity to check out some amazing work. I always learn something new.
Last month when I was hiking I saw a number of trees that had been chewed by beavers. This short video shows how beavers restore and protect their environments. Entire ecosystems benefit from the hard work of these animals!
My favorite band Lettuce is playing a free show at Coney Island tomorrow. If you’re new to the band or looking for some music to check out, head over to my post on the band’s album Resonate. Come out for some sun, surf and funk!
That’s all for this week! Thanks for reading. If you’ve enjoyed this newsletter, please subscribe to get a fresh five bullets in your inbox every Friday.
Have a great weekend.

Photoville sounds fun. Now you got me interested. Will have to check it out next time I’m in NY area. Thanks for the tip!
