Five Bullets 2.27.26: February Roundup
What captured my interest this month: Books, Music, Movies, Quotes & more.
Hi Friends -
Happy Friday! We’ve reached the end of the month which means it’s time to reflect on what we’ve learned, read, seen, and heard. Here’s what captured my interest this February:

Five quotes from this month:
“I am able to take a wire and go into the air and define the air without stealing it from anyone.“ - Ruth Asawa.
“To love is good: love being difficult. For one human being to love another: that is perhaps the most difficult of all our tasks, the ultimate, the last test and proof, the work for which all other work is but preparation.” - Rainer Maria Rilke
“Unity and kindness begin within each of us and can radiate outward to families, communities, and society as a whole.” - Bhikkhu Pannakara
“The world is such a complicated place to be in. I think art gives you this kind of weapon for attempting to understand some of that profundity.” - Megan Rooney.
“She bought me an expensive, illustrated edition of Moby Dick, took me to dinner in a good restaurant, and then ushered me along to a performance of Boris Godunov at the Met.” - from The New York Trilogy.
In case you missed it, here are this month’s Five Bullets:
The ‘Best Of’ this month:
Books: The New York Trilogy and Sherlock Holmes novel A Study In Scarlet.
Music: Check out my February playlist.
Movies: I rewatched Sinners for the first time since I’d seen it in theaters and loved every minute of it again.
Shows: Gary Oldman is excellent in quirky spy thriller Slow Horses, adapted from Mick Herron’s novels.
Author David Grann spoke with the Criminal podcast about how a detective investigating a murder case found clues written in the suspect’s book. Grann covers this story and more in his true crime book The Devil and Sherlock Holmes.
And lastly, keep an eye out for this weekend’s planetary alignment!
